TEU development - Australian-made scalable long-duration-storage solution

Field trial and certification of CHARG’s scalable 20ft LDS VRB system using mixed-acid vanadium electrolyte at QUT’s microgrid facility.

This project focuses on the field trial and certification of CHARG’s scalable 20-foot Long-Duration Storage (LDS) Vanadium Redox Battery (VRB) system. The system utilises mixed-acid vanadium electrolyte to enhance energy density, operational performance, and temperature tolerance.

Testing will be conducted at Queensland University of Technology’s microgrid test facility, providing real-world validation under controlled yet representative operating conditions. The program will assess performance, reliability, compliance, and scalability to support commercial deployment pathways.

Successful certification will strengthen CHARG’s position in delivering modular, long-duration flow battery solutions for industrial, microgrid, and utility-scale applications.
