Electrochemical mining of rare earths using flow battery technology:

This project investigates the application of flow battery technology as a cleaner alternative for extracting specific minerals. Traditional mineral extraction processes can be energy-intensive and environmentally challenging. By leveraging electrochemical principles inherent in flow battery systems, this demonstration aims to validate a more sustainable and potentially lower-impact method.

Initial testing is being conducted at QUEST Hub to assess technical feasibility and performance. If the results confirm viability, the next phase would involve deploying a prototype system at a live mining operation in Australia. CHARG’s established relationships within the mining sector position the project for rapid commercial engagement should the technology prove successful.
